ACP Countries write to European Parliament: Stop Bullying Us With Your Lesbian/Gay Agenda!

As the website of the European Parliament’s “Intergroup on LGBT Rights” reports, 79 African, Caribbean and Pacific states recently issued a Declaration “on the peaceful co-existence of religions and the importance given to the phenomenon of homosexuality” in their partnership with the EU.
In that Declaration, the 79 States criticise the “importance given to homosexuality” by the EU (i.e., the EU’s policy to make development co-operation dependent on subscribing to a radical “LGBT Rights” agenda). They urgently appeal to the EU “to refrain from any attemps to impose its values which are not freely shared in the framework of the ACP-EU Partnership.”
The European Parliament officially received the document late October. In a partial response, it adopted a resolution on the work of the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly in 2009. In the resolution drafted by MEP Eva Joly , the European Parliament “reiterates the principle of the universality of human rights and non-discrimination as the basis upon which to enhance legitimate democratic governance and the political dialogue at the Joint Parliamentary Assembly”.
As one cannot help noticing, the “LGBT Rights” agenda is not universally shared. In fact, the EU appears to be rather isolated in its opinion on what is, and what isnt, to be considered a human right…
