Either Dishonest or Uninformed

This report from the Seattle Times says the “UN” has announced that the Philippines should pass a controversial reproductive health bill. I have no doubt whoever said something wants the Filipinos to believe the “UN” said it. The thing is that the UN speaks to the world through the General Assembly and sometimes the Security Council. I am certain the General Assembly and the Security Council are silent on this issue.

The “UN” in this instance was likely a bureaucrat in the UN Secretariat or one in the UN Population Fund. Either way, it is either dishonest or uninformed of the reporter to report it this way.
