Obama’s War on Catholics

Posted on | February 8, 2012 by Stefano Gennarini, J.D. |

This is a follow-up from a previous post on the Obama Administration’s war on religious freedom, and Catholics in particular.

Tim Herrmann just pointed out to me that Obama is getting a head start on his republican opponent. In typical electioneering fashion his campaign website is replete with misinformation. But most shocking is his pitch to make money off his administration’s attack on religious employers. You can check his fundraising webpage here. This mandate will affect tens of thousands of catholic institutions and organizations in the US.

The white house blog also has a post on the mandate requiring religious employers to pay for contraception, abortifacient drugs, and sterilization here.

The WSJ Editorial from today’s paper offers a very interesting perspective.
