Gudrun Kugler, Mts, Ph.D.

Bio


Dr. Gudrun Kugler, Mts (maiden name Lang) majored in Law, Women's Studies as well as Theological Studies on Marriage and the Family. She holds a Ph.D. in International Law. From 2001 to 2004 she worked as a director of World Youth Alliance - Europe in Brussels. Since Januray 2005 she is co-founder of Kairos Consulting for Non Profit Initiatives in Vienna. Since September 2008 she is an adjunct professor at the International Theological Institute for Studies on Marriage and the Family. Gudrun Kugler directs the Catholic singles website www.kathtreff.org. She is also in charge of the European Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination Against Christians www.intoleranceagainstchristians.eu. In this function Mrs. Kugler is a member of the FRP Advisory Panel of the EU Fundamental Rights Agency and actively involved at the OSCE. She founded and directed the "Youth Academy" - a political training course for young adults hosted by the Vienna Dr. Karl-Kummer-Institute. In 2005 she ran for regional elections as a non-party candidate for the ÖVP and scored despite an ineligible ranking the second best result after the party leader. She issued articles in several books and published "Europa der Grundrechte?" (February 2003, ISBN 3-932829-61-1), "Helden der Menschenwürde" (September 2003, ISBN 3-932829-75-1), the booklet "Family – Answer to Many Questions" (August 2004) and the book "Entdeckung der Freundschaft" (Herder, February 2010). For her dissertation Gudrun Kugler was distinguished with the Leopold-Kunschak-Award. Her work in Brussels was prized by the foundation „Ja zum Leben“. Gudrun Kugler is married and has three children (*2006, *2007, and *2009).
